How does the Risk Profiler work?
The risk profiler is a useful tool that can help you understand the important role risk plays in helping obtain your financial goals. It also gives an indication of how comfortable you are with volatility, the potential loss of capital, and of course your own tolerance for risk.
It takes into account your investment objectives, return expectations and your need for access to your investments. So it's important that you only use the results from this profiler as a general guide rather than a basis for all your investment decisions. It's always a good idea to consult a financial adviser when making such decisions.
Based on your responses, the risk profiler will indicate the type of investor you are, and provide simple examples of how assets could be allocated and potential ranges of returns for your given investment risk profile.
Suggested asset allocations and potential returns are supplied by Morningstar, a leading provider of independent investment research across 19 countries.
You can re-do the risk profile survey as many times as you like to ensure that you are comfortable with the results and that you have answered the questions appropriately. Of course, if you answer one or more of the questions differently, you may see a different outcome.
