Mobile phone transaction security

While reading The Age the other day, I wasn’t surprised to read about mobile commerce finally getting a boost! The Asher Moses article was interesting and you can certainly see the consumer benefits of just pulling out your mobile and paying for everyday items. However, the old security question pops up again and although not covered at length in the article, it got me thinking about just how comfortable Australian’s might be with the security of the platform.

I was reading over the The Sensis Business Index August report, a great resource for small to medium (SME’s) size businesses and it reported that managing cash flow was one of the top five concerns for SME’s in Australia.

How Much Do You Really Know About a Bank's Credit Rating?

Following on from my previous post on investor education about credit ratings, here is a detailed look at the research results I was talking about. The recent survey by TNS and RaboPlus of 1043 investors shows that one in two surveyed believed that Australia’s major banks have AAA credit ratings when they don't.

You may have read about the man in Perth who stole money from bank customer's accounts by convincing them to hand over their passwords. Well it’s no surprise to me!!! Customers are lucrative sources of income to preying conmen and money laundering schemes. Banks in Australia have long ignored introducing multiple security layers to protect customers. Every day we hear stories about phishing, malware, Trojans and internet scams. Online Banking security is a hot topic that we can all do something about.

Australian Investors Misled – Top Investment Rules

You may have seen news reports of two senior executives from the failed Westpoint company who will face court over allegedly misleading investors with labels of “investment bank” in their marketing collateral to raise funds.
