About us

RaboDirect in the community

Our team at RaboDirect, which includes our Customer Experience Centre, our Operations team, our Marketers and our Managers, got together and decided we wanted to do more.

We wanted to use the resources we had available to us to do more for our community and our environment. And we are lucky to work for a company that encourages its staff to participate in socially responsible activity while at work. So we have developed our own Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

Rabobank in the community

Rabobank Australia Ltd maintains its social commitment through the 'Rabobank in the Community' program, with employees embracing the two core initiatives - Community Leave and Workplace Giving - which see bank employees sharing their time and skills with a non-profit organisation or making a financial contribution to an official charity partner.

Giving back to the community

Participation in Workplace Giving enables employees to donate directly from their pay to a range of charities with donations being matched by the bank. In 2008 almost $75,000 was donated through this program to a range of charities in Australia and New Zealand.

Donating work days

Community Leave provides every permanent Rabobank employee in Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to volunteer one working day annually with a non-profit organisation in their local community. Volunteering projects range from preparing and serving meals for the Salvation Army to selling merchandise to raise funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Community partners

The bank's social commitment underpins the belief that it has a corporate responsibility to support community initiatives. Rabobank's community partners have a positive and direct impact on community well-being, whether this be economic, social or environmental.

As a 'Friend of the RFDS', Rabobank is supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern section) to purchase two Beechcraft Super King aircraft. The 'Friends of the RFDS' was formed in 2005 to assist in raising capital funds for aircraft replacement.

The bank's partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (SE section) in Australia continues to gain momentum with many employees volunteering their time to help out at the organisation's annual open days.

Rabobank Young Rural Leaders Summit

Rabobank understands the importance of corporate Australia's role to help foster the development of tomorrow's leaders. The Rabobank Young Rural Leaders Summit is a joint initiative between the Country Education Foundation of Australia, Thyne Reid Foundation and Rabobank, that enables 35 young people from Rural Australia to participate in this annual leadership program.
